yes, i'm talking about you burgs.net.

i've had a website since 1995. 1995 people.

what started with www-scf.usc.edu/~burgos turned into www.geocities.com/djiceburgs turned into www.blogger.com/djiceburgs turned into www.scribble.nu/burgs turned into www.isangmahal.com/djiceburgs turned into www.xanga.com/djiceburgs turned into www.burgs.net.

alot of that content is probably gone forever on some broken down old server in some metal heap. which might not be an entirely bad thing.

the truth is, if you have been reading my website for any period of time, it has absolutely ZERO format. i talk about sports, or running, or what i read on the internet, or the latest episode of hannah montana, or work, or depressing crap. what i write is basically a clusterfuck of information thats as scatterbrained as i am. i wish i had some focus like a tech blog or a movie review blog but its just random fricking musings barely above the "i ate pancakes for breakfast and then i brushed my teeth and then i drove to work". barely. i wish i could monetize this crap but if you read this site with any regularity you know there would be no way possible for this to happen.

sometimes people have asked me, "why do you even do it? why do you put some of that stuff out there (when it will obviously open me up to scrutiny)?

the truth is, this website is the most selfish thing i have.

i write entirely for me. its very therapeutic. its like my diary (see what i mean about opening myself up to scrutiny. i'm a 33 year old dude with a fucking diary).

but yeah, if you are reading this, all i can think to say is, "why?"

just kidding thanks for reading. (but seriously, i have no idea why)

i just got out of jury duty on friday. it was a drug trafficking case.

lucky my brother is a cop. i emphasized that relationship and i was able to get out. good thing since work only pays for one day...

yesterday i played ball with some guys in high school. i was totally the "crafty veteran". i never wanted to be "that old guy" but yup thats me. time to go brett favre and finally quit on the whole bball thing.

here's my "album cover".

(i'll add it later).

happy belated valentimes day.

i put in my paperwork for graduation this may. i'll be 4 units short but they'll let me walk since i'm finishing up this summer. i hope (still waiting for approval by the provost).

i think i'll hit my 100 miles for the month. i'm at 90 and have 4 days left. again, the last time i hit 100 miles was september...2007.

last weekend i finally watched "the wrestler" and i caught "coraline" in 3d. both EXCELLENT flicks. i was a bit nervous theatre hopping though. i don't know why i was so nervous about a high school usher, hell thats what i used to do and i really didn't care if anyone movie hopped or not.

happy ash wednesday to all the catolicos. here's a link from missi about giving up facebook for lent.

fighter of the year.

jeff diwas, felix, and i were talking about iphone apps that would be profitable to be developed a few months back. kevin chimed in that, "what would be really cool would be to make the iphone turn into a mirror." this was quickly dismissed.

boy were we wrong. i've been running ALOT the past few days. but its not even making a dent. frickin holidays!

fried

my computer got fried this weekend. literally. i smelled the smoke, opened up the computer, and smoke came out.

i debated fixing it up but i realized i've had it for over 4 years. i also have all the files backed up. so i just ordered a cheap 500 dollar computer from dell and will just use it til it crashes.

in fantasy news, i'm 2-2 in p4p and 3-1 in my other league. i won my baseball league which is super sausage but hey, i'll take the money.

good heroes last night...i like this season so far. much better than season 2. at least its moving pretty fast!

usc vs oregon this saturday! fight on!

if u have an iphone, get the 2.0 software release. also make sure to upgrade your itunes to access the app store. i haven't purchased any apps yet but have downloaded many free ones.

things to note:
i've downloaded approx 20 free apps.. the 20 apps only are taking up about half a gig total.

the best freeapps? phonesaber (your very own virtual lightsaber), tiptap (ddr type game), and baseball (this is a baseball reference that includes player stats by year and team!) if you have any other new apps to recommed, let me know.

other things that are great are the bulk delete function in email and microsoft exchange support (something i'm in the process of configuring but will let u know how that goes).

problems? my phone has locked up on me for a minute or so from time to time but nothing critical.

overall, very happy with the experience. it really feels like i have a brand new phone. any questions, feel free to ask.

this is one app i must have for my iphone.

unfortunately i probably won't install apps and the 2.0 software until next week. i'll definitely write a review then. until then...usc football talk!

espn has us in two of the top 3 games in the pac 10 (i know i said us).
1. Ohio State at USC, Sept. 13: First, the college football nation thanks you, Trojans and Buckeyes, for having the courage to play this game. Just thinking about this should make your mouth water. The winner immediately becomes a leading national title contender, and the loser doesn't necessary fall out of the race. The defensive talent on both teams is just stunning, so the game might hinge on which QB better handles the pressure.

2. Oregon at USC, Oct. 4: Can the Ducks win two in a row vs. the Trojans and jump to the top of the Pac-10? Unlikely, particularly on the road. But Oregon figures to offer USC a legitimate challenge. And it's sort of fun how Pete Carroll and Mike Bellotti appear to have a prickly relationship.

and it has us number 1 in the pac 10. and ucla 8th!

windows sp3 is now being pushed out. its not a really sexy update.

in more exciting news, the app store is now on itunes! and tomorrow the iphone 2.0 software is released! hopefully i get everything on my phone before my trip up north. but i won't get too crazy paying for applications just yet.

thinking about going back on the master cleanse. anyone do it recently? anyone interested in doing it? i've just been eating way too much fast food lately.
pasadena marathon map released.

"The course will take participants by the Rose Bowl, the Colorado Bridge, City Hall, Cal Tech, the Tournament of Roses House"

anyone interested in running this? i'm always looking for people to train with.

some tech dates i'm looking forward to? new upgrade for my blog software should get released later this month. and the iphone software 2.0 upgrade drops on july 11th. and yes, this is on my calendar.

bluetooth

one thing i've noticed while working on the new site (by sorting everything into categories, reindexing, etc) is that i write/comment alot about sports.

well todays as good a day as any to ignore sports altogether.

july 1st is the first day of the no cell phone use while driving law.  i'm looking at getting a bluetooth.  any particular model that anyone can recommend?

i was once totally anti-bluetooth. i still don't plan to use it as a fashion accesory. i'll limit it to in the car use only.
